Poetry Drawings is a series of work on paper, exploring the artist’s relationship with written word. Evgenia Emets has been creating poetic work since 1994 and from 2014 started experimenting with visual and sound poetry, meditative drawing and performative aspects of poetry.

The series also reflects her recent studies of traditional Chinese calligraphy and brings together expressive movement of ink drawing with emotive one-line poetic work. The poetry drawings have been created as a meditative practice, focusing on silence, spontaneous messages reflecting the moment and conversation between abstract and concrete ink brushwork.
