Black Friday performance at Despite Words / By Other Means

Despite Words: Telharmonium Mk.IV is the first in a new series of experimental poetry evenings brought to you By Other Means. http://www.byothermeans.co.uk/

I have contributed with an improvised performance piece Black Friday. Picked an Evening Standard newspaper on the way to the gallery and I delivered a participatory performance, where audience became a vocal reflective instrument of its own.

While residing in big city one cannot help but respond to the madness to stay sane. This performance came together spontaneously, but also after years of observing people reading papers on the underground. The night of the performance coincided with Black Friday hence the title. I was excited to deliver something which allowed people to hear their voice and meditate upon everyday as poetry, mantra, prayer, noise, vocal reflection.
