The Wheel

Installation and performance, Roundhouse, London (with Analema Group), 2016

Site-specific large scale installation on 360-degree visual and sonic format, with a special interactive performance for a choir and audience. A spatial pattern poem ‘The Wheel’ was based on the idea of six different conceptual, visual and phonetic “worlds”. This idea of transitory realms served as a starting point for the unfolding of three sets of performances for six singers, followed by audience participation. Each word was transcribed on a hexagonal piece of paper and positioned next to each microphone in hexagonal formations around the Roundhouse.

Each of the six singers performed in a given arrangement of the poetry sequence, while moving through the space. The poem served as initial score for both performers and audience and an inspiration for making sound with their own voices, embodying qualities of these “worlds”. An interactive visual and sonic interpretation of voices was created by Analema Group.
